Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)

23.11.12

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a UK government incentive scheme designed to reward those who generate heat from renewable sources.

The first phase of RHI has just been launched (November 2012) and is focused on commercial sector only, this means larger industrial and commercial, as well as public and community buildings (for ex. shops, pubs, B&B, businesses, charities, public sector, National Trust properties, local authorities, offices, garden centres, public libraries, hotels, etc.).

The second phase of the RHI will be dedicated to the private sector also. The intention of Government is to launch the Domestic RHI in summer 2013.

Good to know: all products bought till 24 months before the official starting date of RHI will be eligible for the incentive.

MCZ is profoundly persuaded that the plan chosen by British Government - the first scheme of its kind in the world - could largely help to accelerate the installation of renewable energy system in UK. This is one of the reason why we strongly pursued and finally obtained the certification MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) for all our HYDRO pellet stoves and for a large number of Air pellet stoves also.
